Many people suffer from chronic pain of unknown origin in various places in
their body from chronic pelvic pain to chronic headaches. This can be
debilitating and affect every aspect of their life. Chronic pain can be due to
many reasons but frequently the origin of the pain has yet to be uncovered.
Chronic pain is often due to unhealthy compensations created by the body.
Inflammation is any part of your body caused by infections, direct trauma,
repetitious movement, diet, environmental toxins or emotional stress can lead to
adhesions that restrict movement of our internal organs or viscera.
When you are healthy all of your internal organs can move freely and are able to
function optimally without pain. Visceral manipulation therapy works to improve
mobility and function of the organs and re-establishes the body’s ability to
heal itself.
Visceral Manipulation is a gentle, manual therapy that does not focus on
the site of pain or dysfunction; instead we evaluate the entire body to find the
source of the restriction. Once the source is identified visceral manipulation
techniques that release adhesions and promote mobility are applied, allowing the
organs to move freely and function optimally. As the source of the problem is
released, the symptoms will start to decrease.
This program begins with an initial consultation with Dr. Roberts, in order to
explore your health history, conduct state of the art alternative testing and do
a comprehensive visceral manipulation evaluation to uncover the source of the
restriction that is contributing to your pain and dysfunction.
Visceral manipulation therapy is done once a week for 6 weeks, followed by a
subsequent visit to track progress and ensure success.
